Talk to a human.
One person makes this app. Email pibulus@gmail.com with the macOS version and what happened — a reply usually lands within a day, Melbourne time.
The ghost never appears in the menu bar
macOS hides menu bar items when the bar is full, especially on a MacBook with a notch. Quit a few other menu bar apps, or use a manager such as Bartender, and the ghost returns. The app is still running either way.
Nothing pastes into the app
Automatic paste needs Accessibility: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility → enable TalkType. Without it the transcript still lands on the clipboard, and ⌘V does the rest. Password fields refuse synthetic keystrokes by design and cannot be made to accept them.
Microphone or Speech Recognition was denied
System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone (or Speech Recognition) → enable TalkType, then quit and reopen the app. The menu shows the exact permission still missing.
The shortcut does nothing
Something else owns Right Option, or the keyboard layout does not report it as a modifier. The menu offers Left Option, either Option, or a standard push-to-talk key instead.
Lost the DMG
The build stays at talktype.app/downloads/TalkType.dmg. A receipt is not required to re-download, because the app is not licensed per install and nobody enjoys a scavenger hunt.
Refunds
Email the Square receipt within 30 days and the payment is refunded, no interrogation. If the app simply did not fit, saying why helps the next build.
Privacy
The short version: audio is processed on the Mac by default, keys live in the Keychain, and there is no analytics or account system. The longer version is on the privacy page.
